App Tracker

Free job application tracker template

A copyable table for tracking a job search by hand: company, role, date applied, resume version, contact, status, and next step. Select the table, copy it into a spreadsheet, and go.

Why these seven columns

Company, role, and date applied are the minimum anyone tracks. The other four are the ones people usually add back in after losing track of a search by month two: resume version so you know which variant you sent, contact so a reply doesn't arrive from a stranger, status so nothing silently dies, and next step so every row has an action instead of just a memory.

When a spreadsheet stops being enough

A table works until the resume-version column starts needing its own table — which version actually went where, and whether you told two interviewers two different numbers for the same job. That's what App Tracker's resume vault and append-only consistency ledger are for: the same idea as this template, kept honest automatically as the search grows past what a spreadsheet can track.
